Dual socket AMD EPYC 7763 creates new record in Cinebench R23

AMD launched their EPYC Milan CPUs last month based on their new and revolutionary Zen 3 architecture that promises better performance at similar TDPs we saw with Zen 2. Undoubtedly, the IPC gains with Zen 3 and the cache redesign has helped to make them the server processors out there.

The Red team’s main advantage is the number of cores they can stuff into a processor. So, they enjoy stuffing 64 cores into a single chip that makes them the most powerful x86 server chips ever.

Last year, Zen 2 based EPYC Rome CPUs were introduced and they had amazing performance in multi-threaded workloads. Now, with new EPYC Milan, the Zen 3 architecture boasts significant IPC uplift and a strong single-core performance boost.

In AMD’s latest “The Bring Up” episode, they ran 2 of their EPYC 7763 processors with 512 GB DDR4-3200 RAM and recorded a maximum of 85 degree Celsius temperature. This made a world record Cinebench R23 score of a whopping 113,631 points.
