Devgn broke the news himself on August 24, sharing the film’s first poster alongside its title. The tagline says everything: “Mera Sach, Mera Sahi, Sirf Meri Family Hai”—my truth, my right, only my family. It’s the same unshakable philosophy that’s carried Vijay Salgaonkar through two investigations, and now, one final reckoning.

The story picks up with Vijay, the cable operator whose carefully constructed lies have protected his family for years, facing a threat that finally tests everything he’s built.

A Returning Cast, With New Faces Joining the Fight

Tabu returns as IG Meera Deshmukh, the relentless investigator who has spent two films inching closer to the truth, alongside Shriya Saran as Nandini and Rajat Kapoor reprising his role. Joining the franchise for the first time are Prakash Raj and Jaideep Ahlawat—two actors whose presence alone signals higher stakes and fresh complications for Vijay’s carefully guarded secret.

Abhishek Pathak, who directed Drishyam 2, returns behind the camera and co-writes the screenplay alongside Aamil Keeyan Khan and Parveez Shaikh.

Closing a Franchise Built on Tension

Drishyam 3 Release Date: Ajay Devgn’s Vijay Salgaonkar Returns for “The Conclusion”; What began in 2015 as a Hindi remake of Mohanlal’s Malayalam thriller has become one of Bollywood’s most successful suspense franchises. The original film collected roughly ₹110 crore worldwide, while Drishyam 2 nearly tripled that number, closing near ₹342 crore globally—numbers that explain why this conclusion carries such weight for fans.

Filming has already wrapped, with the film currently deep in post-production ahead of its confirmed release.

The Malayalam Story Keeps Going

Interestingly, while Devgn’s Vijay bows out, the original story isn’t finished. Mohanlal and director Jeethu Joseph released their own Drishyam 3 back in May 2026, and it became the franchise’s biggest entry yet, crossing ₹242 crore worldwide off a strong ₹43.37 crore opening. A fourth Malayalam installment is already confirmed, meaning Georgekutty’s journey continues even as Vijay’s comes to an end.

With the Drishyam 3 release date locked for October 2, anticipation is building around how Abhishek Pathak will bring Vijay Salgaonkar’s story full circle. Between a stacked returning cast, two formidable new additions, and a franchise legacy built on twist after twist, Drishyam: The Conclusion has enormous expectations to meet—and every sign suggests it’s ready to deliver.
