Fans of the medical drama just got the best kind of news. Netflix hasn’t ordered one more season but two, and the main cast is coming back.
The Trauma Code: The Announcement
On October 19, Netflix confirmed that Seasons 2 and 3 of The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call are being produced simultaneously. The first season came out last year and follows genius trauma surgeon Baek Kang Hyuk as he works to revive a struggling Severe Trauma Care team.
Returning Cast
| Actor | Role |
|---|---|
| Ju Ji Hoon | Baek Kang Hyuk, genius trauma surgeon |
| Choo Young Woo | Yang Jae Won, Baek’s protégé |
| Yoon Kyung Ho | Han Yu Rim, chief of planning and coordination at Hankuk National University Hospital |
| Jeong Jae Kwang | Park Gyeong Won, anesthesiologist |
| Jeong Yein | Cheon Jang Mi, veteran nurse (new to the role) |
One Casting Change
Jeong Yein takes on the role of veteran nurse Cheon Jang Mi. This follows Ha Young’s decision to voluntarily step down from the drama. Everyone else on the list returns to their roles.
Behind the Camera
| Season | Director | Writer |
|---|---|---|
| Season 2 | Lee Do Yoon | Lee Do Yoon |
| Season 3 | Lee Do Yoon | New writer Tomasi joins the script |
Having the same director across both seasons should help keep the tone consistent. A new writer joining for Season 3 could also bring fresh storylines.
Why Filming Back-to-Back Matters?
Producing two seasons together usually means a more connected story and fewer long gaps between releases, though Netflix hasn’t announced premiere dates. Fans will have to wait for official word on timing.
