Netflix dropped the new trailer of the Netflix documentary Downfall: The Case Against Boeing. In this documentary, the Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Rory Kennedy reveals the negligence and corporate greed that has been led to two Boeing MAX 737 planes that have been crashed within the gap of just five months.  It has been guided by aviation experts, news journalists, former Boeing employees, the US Congress, and also the victim’s family. This film basically reveals the pattern of such reckless cost-cutting and concealment at the once venerated company.

It is a fierce indictment of Wall Street’s corrupting influence, DOWNFALL  reveals such of the huge questions based on the perils of the corporate ethos of America with the staggering human cost. This film has been directed by Rory Kennedy. It also has been written by Mark Bailey, Keven  McAlester, Amanda Rohlke, Sara Bernstein, and Justin  Wilkes. The executive producers are Brian Grazer and Ron Howard.

Downfall: The Case Against Boeing: Plot

This movie has set in behind the outline of the tragedy that has been occurred between March 2019 and December 2020. It was the time when two of the Boeing planes crashed mysteriously and happened the death of 346 people. After that, the Boeing 737 MAX passenger airliner had been grounded.  When the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration started to resist grounding the planes primarily, they had quickly found evidence like the similar accident that happened on  18th March 2019 as 387 aircraft were grounded.

The ongoing investigation was resulting in such uncovered and unethical practices with the company that also resulted in the tragic events. It seems that the investigation has cost Boeing an estimated $20 million in fines, compensation, and legal fees. The company was also lost  $60 billion from 1,200 cancelled orders.  In 2021, the banning on aircraft had also been lifted having the planes with certificated with the commercial flights with the United States and abroad.

This movie has been viewed at the Sundance Film Festival last week with Kennedy providing an interview with TheWrap at the time of the event along with Michael  Stumo who lost his daughter in the crash of Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302 give an appearance in this movie.

Stumo also discussed the impact of the movie and stating that ” We are fighting one of the biggest corporations in the world with their excessive focus on profit, and we have to get the word out to everyone in order to avoid a third crash, in order to further convince Boeing that cutting safety does not pay. This film will also  go out  to quite  a few  countries, and we  need to let peop0le know the MAX is still not  safe.”
