Marcus Mergulhao has shed light on another unfulfilled transfer in Dorny Romero’s failed move to Kerala Blasters this summer. The striker was a top target for the Blasters, but they were unable to agree a move with Bolivian top tier side Club Always Ready.
The Blasters were asked to pay a transfer fee worth around €150,000 for the striker, but could not find an agreement over the payment. As a result, they stuck to their squad and have invested in other influential players such as Daisuke Sakai.
Dorny Romero’s failed transfer to Kerala Blasters revealed
The 25-year-old has been in fine form in Bolivia, scoring 19 goals and providing two assists in 28 league games. He was reportedly keen on the transfer, but an agreement between the two clubs was a necessary prerequisite for his desire to be fulfilled.
The team were also in talks with Argentina striker Gustavo Blanco Leschuk, while also being offered Alvaro Vasquez by FC Goa. But, they did not go through with either move and ultimately decided to go for Kwame Peprah, who is yet to score his first goal in the ISL.
Kerala Blasters were also able to sign Ishan Pandita on a free transfer, despite the player being offered a lucrative opportunity by Inter Kashi. They are now second in the league table with 13 points from six games.
