Donny van De Beek’s time at Manchester United has been very difficult for the fans of the club to accept. This year, the player has only appeared twice in the Premier League. His most recent cameo was against Manchester City in the derby, where he earned a great reception from the fans despite his team losing.
The midfielder was signed from Ajax last year after Manchester United failed to sign Jadon Sancho in 2020. The former Borussia Dortmund winger has been resigned to a similar fate as van De Beek during his time at Old Trafford so far.
The 24-year-old has made it to the starting eleven only twice, and has played the full 90 minutes only once in the EFL Cup. Despite showing tremendous potential for Ajax, the player has not been given a chance to show his capabilities at Manchester United. This has also led to him being dropped from the Dutch national team.
He has been very professional so far, and has continued to keep himself fit and available for selection. But, he realises that the situation is far from ideal. As a result, if the situation persists and he is not given chances, he will be looking to move away in January.
Everton were close to an agreement with Donny Van De Beek this summer, but Manchester United blocked a move. They have not managed to capitalise on having such promising talent among their ranks either. So, it looks very likely that we will see Donny Van de Beek end his spell at Manchester United and revive his career elsewhere.
