From a Viral TikTok to 50+ Music Videos

Divyanka Sirohi‘s story is one that many young digital creators in India will recognise: she didn’t arrive through a film school or a big audition. She arrived through a phone screen, an expressive face, and a moment that clicked.

Her breakthrough came from a Diwali video she posted on TikTok, set to Punjabi singer Sunanda Sharma’s popular track. It went viral — nearly 20 million views — and her follower count hit 5 million overnight. In her own words: “That video got around 20 million views. After that, my followers on TikTok became 5 million.”

Before India’s TikTok ban, she had accumulated over 50 million followers. When the platform disappeared, she transitioned to Instagram and, crucially, to the Haryanvi music video industry — where she built a genuine second chapter.

Over the course of her career, Divyanka appeared in more than 50 Haryanvi and Punjabi music videos, collaborating with artists including Masoom Sharma, Amit Saini Rohtakiya, and KD. Her screen presence — expressive, energetic, and distinctly her own — made her a familiar face across regional entertainment platforms.

Importantly, hers was not simply a social media story. Before entering entertainment, Divyanka had a corporate career — at Kotak Mahindra Bank, Huawei Technologies India, and in HR and client services roles — before stepping fully into the spotlight. Her path reflects a generation that built its own stages.

The Industry Responds

The All India Cine Workers Association was among the first to pay tribute, stating: “Gone far too soon, her loss is not just personal to her loved ones, but a profound loss to the entire film fraternity.”

Fans across social media have shared memories of her videos, their grief raw and immediate. Her Instagram had been quiet for the month before her passing — a detail that, in hindsight, many are holding onto.

A Life That Mattered

Divyanka Sirohi was 30 years old. She was a daughter, a sister, a creator, and an artist whose career was still mid-rise. She had built something real and lasting from the ground up — from a single viral moment to an industry career, from corporate cubicles to music video sets.

That kind of determination deserves to be remembered clearly, not just in the shock of its ending.

May she rest in peace. And may her work continue to reach the people she made it for.
