Disney Channel actress Carla Jeffery, widely recognized for playing Bree in the popular Zombies franchise, has died at the age of 33.

Carla Jeffery: Overview

In a statement mourning her loss, the management agency remembered Jeffery as a talented and vibrant performer whose career in the entertainment industry spanned more than two decades.

“For more than 20 years,” the agency said, it had the privilege of watching her grow into a talented woman whose radiant smile could light up any room.

News of her death prompted an immediate wave of tributes from colleagues and people who had worked with her throughout her career, particularly those connected to Disney’s Zombies musical-comedy series.

A Career That Began in Childhood

Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Jeffery entered the entertainment industry at a remarkably young age. Her first major film appearance came when she was just 12 years old, in the 2006 comedy Phat Girlz, starring Mo’Nique.

Jeffery played a younger version of Mo’Nique’s character, marking the beginning of a career that would eventually include film, television and voice work.

Over the years, she appeared in several well-known television shows, including iCarly, Shake It Up, Good Luck Charlie, Southland, Suburgatory and Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.

She also had a recurring role on HBO’s acclaimed comedy series Curb Your Enthusiasm, portraying Keysha Black, the daughter of Vivica A. Fox’s character, Loretta Black.

Remembered as Bree in Disney’s Zombies

For many Disney viewers, however, Jeffery was best known as Bree, the cheerful cheerleader from Seabrook High in the Zombies franchise.

She joined the franchise in 2018 and appeared as Bree, a close friend of Addison, played by Meg Donnelly. Her performance made her a familiar face among fans of the Disney musical-comedy series.

Although Jeffery’s career covered a wide range of projects, her role in Zombies became one of her most recognizable performances.

Her unexpected death at just 33 has left fans and fellow performers mourning an actress who began working as a child and spent more than 20 years building a career in entertainment.

As tributes continue to emerge, Jeffery’s work across television, film and Disney’s Zombies franchise remains an important part of her professional legacy.
