Did you Know? Apple had plans for a Battery-Powered HomePod Years Ago

The Beats Pill+, Apple’s last battery-powered speaker, was recently discontinued. Apple, on the other hand, was said to have considered and prototyped a battery-powered HomePod. The HomePod and HomePod mini can only be utilized when they are plugged in right now.

A battery-operated HomePod tiny would have been ideal. It would have been much easier to bring it along on excursions or vacations because it is so tiny. Scroll down to learn more about the topic.

Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman shares the revelation in his weekly Power On newsletter, implying that Apple considered developing a battery-powered HomePod years ago. The HomePod tiny is Apple’s lone speaker at the moment, and it only functions when you plug it in. Because of its size, a battery-powered HomePod would have made a lot of sense, as previously said.

It would have been much easier to transport and handle a battery-powered HomePod. There’s no word on why Apple didn’t go ahead with it, and Gurman says he’d be astonished if Apple introduced one under its brand in the future.

Gurman also revealed details about Apple’s mixed reality headset plans, implying that the AR Headset will have performance comparable to the M1 Pro processor. Furthermore, the M1 Pro chip would provide improved graphics capabilities. Finally, Gurman claims that the AR Headset will cost more than $2,000 to purchase.

Apple’s HomePod has the word ‘Home’ in it which means the company wants users to use it as a hub for wireless controls.
