What’s Coming in Season 2?

Season 1 ended with Carl Morck successfully rescuing Merritt Lingard — but he remains convinced that the Leith Park shooting, which killed an officer and an informant, was a coordinated attack by gangster Eugene Errington rather than a random hit. Wikipedia That thread is expected to carry ominously into Season 2.

With nine remaining novels in Jussi Adler-Olsen’s Department Q book series still available as source material — covering cases from institutional abuse and human trafficking to a drowning refugee and a serial killer operating on a two-year cycle — there’s no shortage of dark, compelling directions for the show to explore. The Nordic noir genre has produced some of Netflix’s most critically celebrated originals, and Dept. Q sits comfortably alongside the very best of them — methodical, psychologically rich, and grounded in a deeply layered central performance from Matthew Goode.
