The third episodfe of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 delivered one of Marvel’s best action sequences in years — and then ripped your heart out in the final moments with a single phone call from Wilson Fisk.
Just when you think Matt Murdock is finally getting the upper hand, Fisk reminds everyone exactly why he’s the Kingpin. Episode 3 was electric, emotional, and absolutely brutal — here’s everything that happened and what it means.
Daredevil: Born Again Episode 3 Recap: The Red Hook Breakout
Episode 3, titled “The Scales & the Sword”, opens with Matt and Karen interrogating a captured AVTF agent named Alan Saunders, who claims he wants to help them. He provides a keycard to infiltrate Fisk’s secret detention facility at Red Hook.
Inside, Daredevil discovers dozens of prisoners held in cages — including people who aren’t even vigilantes. He frees the detainees and reunites with Duquesne, who helps him fight off Task Force agents as chaos erupts throughout the facility.

The appearance of Angela del Toro wearing the White Tiger amulet was perhaps the most surprising moment — her help was invaluable in getting the hostages clear of Red Hook, including slashing the AVTF’s tires and stealing one of their vehicles.
Key Events at a Glance

Did Daredevil Actually Win?
Daredevil wins the immediate objective inside Red Hook but does not defeat the larger system behind it. Fisk responds by destroying the Northern Star, removing key evidence and limiting the impact of Matt’s actions — shifting control of the situation back to Fisk.
By blowing up the ship, Fisk not only gets rid of the dubious cargo the Governor pointed to as evidence, but also any witnesses — the Kingpin always playing chess, not checkers.
Fisk is likely to spin this and say the vigilantes killed innocent contractors, making Karen and Matt’s fight for public trust significantly harder going forward. Bam Smack Pow
This is the brilliance of Daredevil as a character — he fights with his fists, but Fisk fights with systems. And systems are harder to punch.
