Official: Dani Carvajal Bids Farewell to Real Madrid After 23 Years and 27 Trophies

Real Madrid have officially confirmed that club captain Dani Carvajal will leave at the end of the current season, closing one of the most decorated and emotionally significant player-club relationships in modern Spanish football. The announcement, made by the club on May 18, states that both parties have agreed to end what Madrid described as a “wonderful chapter” once the 2025-26 campaign concludes.

A 23-Year Bond With Real Madrid

For Real Madrid, this is not just another squad exit. It is the departure of a homegrown defender who became a symbol of consistency, competitiveness and identity across more than two decades linked to the club. Carvajal arrived in 2002, spent 10 seasons in the academy, and then completed 13 seasons with the first team, building a legacy few full-backs in world football can match. 

Carvajal leaves with numbers that place him firmly among the greats of the Bernabéu era. According to Real Madrid’s official statement, he won 27 titles with the first team: 6 European Cups, 6 Club World Cups, 5 UEFA Super Cups, 4 La Liga titles, 2 Copa del Rey trophies and 4 Spanish Super Cups. The club also noted that he is one of only five players in football history to have won six European Cups.
