Phantom Liberty DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 sounds like it’s going to be huge. CD Projekt Red is no stranger to ambition, sometimes to its detriment, but it creates on an enormous scale. The Witcher 3 has a story that lasts about 55 hours and can be extended to hundreds of hours if you include optional side quests, DLCs, and other content.
It’s a massively expansive game, as is Cyberpunk 2077 and although the game was not as well received, Cyberpunk 2077 did manage to provide players with a wealth of content to enjoy, and it appears that it will not skimp on this in its DLC.
CD Projekt Red revealed the first look at Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, a new expansion for the game that will introduce actor Idris Elba into the Cyberpunk universe, at The Game Awards 2022.
Fans are understandably excited for this game, and CD Projekt Red’s recent comments have only added to the excitement.
CD Projekt Red IR Manager Marek Bugdo stated in a recent interview with Polish publication Parkiet that the Phantom Liberty expansion will be the “biggest addition in the studio’s history.”
CDPR later clarified that this was in reference to the DLC’s budget rather than the amount of content, but it still bodes well. Obviously, CDPR is paying a lot of money to get Keanu Reeves and Idris Elba in the game, but it can be assumed that a lot of money is also being invested in the playable content.
The Witcher 3 had a few truly massive DLCs that were probably better than some of the games they released at the time. They were great stories, but they were also extremely long, so you got a lot of bang for your buck. Fans can only hope that Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty will follow suit.
