Cyberpunk 2077 Best Netrunner Build Guide for Maximum Damage Output

Cyberpunk 2077, created by CD Projekt Red, has undergone a remarkable transformation since its release on December 10, 2020. If you’re looking to dominate Night City, you should consider the Netrunner archetype. This path focuses on high-level hacking to take out threats from afar. The game’s 2.0 update, released on September 21, 2023, changed build mechanics to emphasize more aggressive cyberware integration.

The Phantom Liberty expansion, which launched on September 26, 2023, introduced the Relic skill tree, giving Netrunners even greater control over the battlefield. After a series of post-launch patches, the game secured a Metacritic score of around 86/100 on PC, solidifying its reputation as a top-tier RPG.

Overview of Netrunner Builds

At the heart of any strong Netrunner build lies the Intelligence attribute. This stat dictates how well you can use quickhacks. With the 2.0 update revamping the perk and cyberware systems, I recommend focusing on a high-Intelligence path to boost your RAM regeneration and damage scaling.

Key Attributes for Netrunners

Your main focus should be on Intelligence. Aim to max this out to 20 points early in your playthrough to unlock the most powerful quickhacks. Besides that, consider investing in Technical Ability to enhance your cyberware capacity, and Cool for stealth modifiers that help keep you undetected while you hack. Ars Technica reports.

Recommended Cyberware Enhancements

Your choice of deck is crucial. Opt for a high-tier Cyberdeck that lets you queue multiple quickhacks on a single target. Key cyberware includes the RAM Upgrade and the EX-Disk, both of which significantly enhance your total RAM and recovery speed.

Maximizing Damage Output

If you want to maximize your damage output, integrate your quickhacks with the right perks. The goal is to spread damage across multiple enemies at once instead of focusing solely on single targets.

Essential Skills and Perks

Put your resources into the “Optimization” and “Encryption” perk trees. These can lower the cost of your hacks and extend the duration of status effects like Overheat or Cyberware Malfunction. The Relic skill tree from the Phantom Liberty expansion introduces unique abilities based on cyberware, which are essential for tougher encounters.

Best Quickhacks for Damage

Prioritize “Short Circuit” for robotic foes and “Contagion” for crowd control. When you pair these with the “Overclock” mode—part of the 2.0 update—you can sacrifice health to keep hacking even when your RAM runs out. This creates a loop that allows you to clear entire rooms in moments.

Optimal Equipment and Mods

Make sure to equip legendary-tier mods that enhance “Quickhack Damage” or “Crit Chance.” CD Projekt Red mentioned in 2024 that they won’t be releasing any major updates as they shift their focus to Project Orion. The current meta is stable and rewarding for players who master the tactical gameplay.

As you move forward, keep an eye out for chances to upgrade your equipment through local ripperdocs, ensuring your damage output remains consistent. Mastering the timing of your quickhack queues will help you turn every encounter in Night City into a well-planned, efficient victory. Tom's Hardware confirms.
