Cristiano Ronaldo returned to training with Juventus for the upcoming season today, with Matthijs De Ligt, Dejan Kulusevski and Adrien Rabiot also joining the Portuguese international.
The forward was happy to greet fans outside the training session, take pictures and sign autographs for them. Ronaldo has been the subject of numerous conflicting rumours, some linking him with a new contract with Juventus while others have been linking him with a switch away from Turin. Manchester United, City and Paris Saint-Germain are the three names rumoured to be interested in him if he chooses to leave Turin.
The 36-year-old currently has one year left on his deal with the Bianconeri. Pavel Nedved has stated that they are working to agree a new deal with both Ronaldo and Paulo Dybala, who is in a similar contractual situation. The five time Ballon d’Or winner is one of the highest earners in Europe, getting paid a wage worth €31 million per season, and there are few clubs in the world which can afford to match his financial demands.
While Juventus did not have the best of seasons in the league last year, they managed to win the Coppa Italia. Ronaldo himself won the Golden Boot in the Serie A, and reached a milestone achievement of scoring 100 goals for the Italian club within a few years of joining.
Ronaldo was ambiguous when asked about his future during the Euros, and all we can expect right now is that he will be up to face Barcelona in the Joan Gamper Trophy in pre-season.
