Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to meet with Erik Ten Hag very soon to discuss his future. The Portugal captain has returned to Manchester following a spell away from the team. And now, he is set to clarify his plans for the coming season with the club.

Atletico Madrid have been linked the strongest with the 37-year-old’s signature. However, the fans of the club have protested against the arrival of their rivals’ all-time top scorer.

Cristiano Ronaldo future to be revealed soon

Manchester United have always maintained that they want to keep the forward for the coming season. And that he is a part of Ten Hag’s plans as well. However, Ronaldo and his agent, Jorge Mendes, want to leave in search of Champions League football.

Bayern Munich and Chelsea have been linked with his signature earlier in the window. But, neither club have been given permission to sign the player. They have also not proclaimed their desire to sign him either.

Now, upon meeting with the club authorities, Cristiano Ronaldo could take a final call about his future. But even if he leaves Old Trafford, there seem to be few possible destinations for the veteran at this point.

Benjamin Sesko of RB Salzburg has been identified as a possible replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo if he decides to leave the club. But, interest from Real Madrid and his €50 million price tag could deter them from signing him.
