Crash 2: Heo Sung Tae Returns as the T.C.I. Captain, and the Chase Goes Nationwide

Some drama leaders shout their authority. Jung Chae Man simply folds his arms, studies the case board and lets his team do the rest. ENA’s Crash 2 has just released new stills of Heo Sung Tae back in the captain’s seat, and they say a lot without a single line.

What Is Crash 2?

Crash 2 is the second installment of the hit 2024 drama Crash, which made history as the first Korean drama to focus on traffic crime investigations. The series follows the Traffic Crime Investigation (T.C.I.) team, who relentlessly pursue criminals on the road. Heo Sung Tae returns as Jung Chae Man, the man who formed the team.

Meet the Captain

Jung Chae Man personally scouted outstanding talent and supports his members from behind so each can use their strengths. His intensity has a painful root: he lost his wife in a hit-and-run accident, which shapes how he approaches traffic crimes. In the stills, he stands in front of a case briefing board with a resolute gaze, a veteran detective carrying both grief and determination.

Serious Leader, Goofy Heart

Despite the heavy backstory, the show keeps its humour. Team members often solve cases a step ahead of him, so he tries hard to save face as captain, promising plenty of laughs. That balance of tension and comedy is a big part of the franchise’s appeal.

What Changes in Season 2?

Heo Sung Tae on Returning

The actor said this is his first time appearing as a lead through a second season, and he is deeply moved. He pointed to the nationwide expansion as the biggest change, which means bigger car action. Since the show deals with traffic crimes discussed in real news, he believes viewers will find it even more realistic, and he hopes many will relate to the weight of its themes.
