Just when you think this show can’t get weirder, Episode 6 hands Stuart Bloom a universe where humans evolved from cows — four stomachs, cud-chewing dinner dates and all. But under the barnyard comedy sits a real cliffhanger: the multiverse itself is dying, and Stuart may be the only one who can stop it.
What Actually Happens
Stuart (Kevin Sussman) and Denise (Lauren Lapkus) touch down in a reality that’s oddly close to normal, except for one detail: everyone here is descended from cattle rather than apes, complete with extra stomachs and a grass-based diet. Oddly enough, it’s the calmest, most livable world the pair has visited all season, and for once Stuart isn’t in a rush to jump away.
Bert and Kripke, on the other hand, aren’t interested in sticking around. They set off in search of a better reality on their own, only to get stranded in an endless, bottomless plunge between dimensions.
The real gut-punch arrives when Raj shows up again — very much alive, though not the same Raj fans watched die in an earlier, post-apocalyptic timeline. This is a fresh variant, one who’s turned into a doomsday prepper convinced their world is running out of time. He warns Stuart and Denise that distant galaxies and star systems have already started blinking out of existence, and at current rates, everything could collapse within a few centuries.
Back at the comic store, things get even stranger: a flickering, digital echo of another Stuart tracks him down and delivers the hard truth — because of how he’s tangled up with the original accident that broke the multiverse, he’s the only person capable of fixing it.
Stuart Fails to Save the Universe: Recap Table
| Element | Detail |
|---|---|
| Episode Title | “Spoiler: Corn Is Delicious” |
| New Universe | Cow-descended humans, four stomachs, grass diet |
| Bert & Kripke | Trapped in an endless free-fall between realities |
| Returning Character | Raj Koothrappali (alternate variant) |
| Big Reveal | Stuart alone can fix the fractured multiverse |
| Stuart’s Choice | Torn between staying with Denise or accepting his role |
Does Stuart Leave the Cow Universe?
By episode’s end, Stuart hasn’t fully committed either way — he’s happy in Cowtown but can no longer ignore that the universe is unraveling on a countdown clock. It sets up Episode 7 as the moment he must choose between comfort and responsibility. For more multiverse breakdowns and TV explainers, check out the entertainment section on TechnoSports.
The show’s central hook — jumping between realities via a broken device — riffs on the same multiverse logic popularized across sci-fi, a concept you can explore further via Wikipedia’s overview of the multiverse.
