Cody Gakpo has been one of the standout performers at the 2022 World Cup. The youngster has scored in all three group stage games for the Netherlands, as they won their group.
He has provided over 30 goal contributions this season, which is a sensational return considering he is only 23 years old. And while there were rumours he would join a big club in the summer, he could end up leaving PSV Eindhoven in the January transfer window as well.
Cody Gakpo yet to commit future to any club
Manchester United were in contact with him this summer, but failed to agree a deal. Cody Gakpo was extremely close to joining Leeds United on deadline day as well, but was told to stay at PSV by Louis Van Gaal which collapsed the deal.
The total package asked for this past summer was only €50 million – and it is safe to say that the amount demanded for him after the World Cup will be significantly higher.
United aren’t the into club monitoring Gakpo. Liverpool have sent their scouts to keep an eye on the Dutchman. Moreover, Real Madrid have also registered their interest in the youngster. But, no club has made any formal offer for him just yet.
