More About the CMF Phone 1
An image by 91Mobiles suggests the CMF Phone 1 will come with something rather different at the rear with an empty space reserved at the bottom right corner, a likely-to-be home for the Nothing Lock module. At this point, it is still uncertain what the module will do, but its presence lends a certain look to the phone.
You will notice another screw in the bottom rear left of the phone as well. One cannot be sure whether this screw is purely an aesthetic one or serves a functional purpose. The screw might have to do with Phone 1’s rumored removable and swappable backplate, the rumor mill speculates.
Voxi claims that the CMF Phone 1 unlike the Phone 2a, will have a vertical, rather than horizontal, camera shaft. CMF by Nothing released a 7-second teaser on X showing the Nothing Lock module rotating with the message ‘Reinventing the wheel.’
As per a new tip from leaker Yogesh Brar, via 91Mobiles, the CMF Phone 1 is rumored to be priced starting at ₹19,999 (~$245) in India, which indicates a retail price of closer to ₹18,000 (~$222) with some discounts potentially dropping it to ₹17,000 (~$209).
This price point places the CMF Phone 1 in a highly competitive segment of the Indian smartphone market, currently led by brands like Samsung, OnePlus, and Xiaomi. However, with rumored specs like a 6.67-inch FHD+ 120Hz OLED display, 6/8GB RAM, and a Dimensity 7300 SoC, along with its unique rear design featuring the Nothing Lock, the Phone 1 could attract significant consumer interest.
