CLC’s Kwon Eunbin Bids Farewell to Entertainment After 10 Years — Her Honest Message Has Fans in Tears

Sometimes the bravest thing a person can do is choose themselves. On June 16, CLC’s Kwon Eunbin did exactly that — stepping away from the spotlight after nearly a decade in the public eye, not with regret, but with quiet courage and a determination to finally pursue a happier life.

Kwon Eunbin personally announced her retirement from the entertainment industry by posting a heartfelt message on her social media account. The announcement was direct, deeply personal, and more refreshingly honest than most farewell statements fans are used to seeing.

What She Said — In Her Own Words

Kwon Eunbin’s message stood out for its rawness. Rather than the usual vague “health reasons” statement, she opened up genuinely about her inner struggles. She revealed that she spent most of her time suffering from feelings of emptiness and anxiety about the present and future rather than having affection and love for her work, and instead of growing through those emotions, she spent a regrettable amount of time trying to avoid them.

She also spoke honestly about the relationships she had built during her career, describing some as empty shells with no real substance. It’s rare for any celebrity — let alone a K-pop idol — to speak with this level of candour, and fans have responded with overwhelming warmth and support.

She confirmed she plans to conclude all entertainment activities after CLC’s previously scheduled group activities overseas, and stated she will not be accepting personal messages going forward — but will cherish the support she has received.

Her Journey in Brief

Kwon Eunbin first gained public attention in 2016 through Mnet’s Produce 101 before joining CLC, going on to balance both her singing and acting careers with drama roles in Bad Papa, Dear.M, At a Distance Spring is Green, and Youth of May. soompi

Her story is a reminder of the immense personal cost that comes with life in the Korean entertainment industry, where idols are often expected to project joy and perfection regardless of what they’re experiencing behind the scenes. Kwon Eunbin’s honesty about her struggles is a meaningful contribution to that ongoing conversation.

We wish her all the happiness she so clearly deserves. For more K-pop and Korean entertainment news, head over to TechnoSports for daily coverage.
