Earlier we saw the appearance of CoreBook X Pro and the review of the device was pretty impressive. The 15.6-inch laptop comes with a 120 Hz display and it was pretty admirable seeing how Chuwi had integrated such a fast panel in a US$559 laptop.

Other specifications of the laptop such as the fans of the keyboard, trackpad or build quality, could do a lot from being improved a little. Worse still, Chuwi included misleading and bizarre errors in its product listing.

However, now Chuwi is back again and has now upgraded their CoreBook X Pro, but, the laptop did not receive any processor upgrade. the company still opted for its Intel Core i5-8259U, which is a chip that is rather long in the tooth in late 2021, I mean we have the 12th generation which arrived in the market.

Likewise, the revised CoreBook X Pro still relies on 8 GB of RAM and a 512 GB NVMe SSD. The machine can accommodate two M.2 SSDs though, which is not always guaranteed in modern laptops. Chuwi includes upgradable RAM as well, another plus point.

So what has Chuwi upgraded you ask? Well, this time they have chosen to upgrade the display from a 120 Hz panel to a 144 Hz one. The original CoreBook X Pro’s refresh rate was one of its areas of strength and did not need improving upon over the rest of the laptop.

However, Chuwi has decided to ignore all other areas and go right towards a 144 Hz display upgrade. The CoreBook X Pro remains at US$559, so the 24 Hz display upgrade has not resulted in a price uplift, at least.
