Chelsea are planning ahead with their transfer activity, and are hopeful of completing a move for Christopher Nkunku. It could be as late as next summer before the player actually makes the switch to Stamford Bridge from RB Leipzig.

The Frenchman was on the radar of several big clubs this summer, but ended up staying for the season after signing a contract renewal. The new deal included a release clause, which is what Chelsea seem to be focusing on activating.

The rumours surrounding the RB Leipzig star are given more fuel after reports that he has already completed a secret medical. Nkunku has completed the medical checks with an orthopedist reportedly being flown into Frankfurt for the same.

The West London side were one of the clubs trying to sign Christopher Nkunku this summer. And it now seems like they are not willing to wait around and enter another transfer war for their target.

By the looks of things, they could agree a transfer now, and could have the player join next summer once the season is over. Leipzig will also have a replacement in the form of Benjamin Sesko, who will be joining the club from RB Salzburg next summer.
