Christian Eriksen will have to pass a sports cardiologist test to play in England again

Christian Eriksen is on the verge of making a remarkable comeback to the Premier League. The Danish midfielder has been offered a six-month contract by Brentford, with the option of extending it for another year, according to . 

The 29-year-old needs to be cleared by a sports cardiologist before he can sign for the Bees. He has been fitted with an ICD, following the cardiac arrest he suffered in Denmark’s first Euro game against Finland. He has not stepped on the football pitch to play an official game since.

Christian Eriksen return subject to medical clearance 

Inter Milan released Christian Eriksen in December since he wouldn’t be allowed to feature in Italy due to the laws in place. However, the Premier League could allow the midfielder to play again despite his heart condition.

Following approval from a cardiologist, the FA and Premier League will be required to thoroughly check his medical records before he is given clearance. Once he passes his medical, he will be able to feature under Thomas Frank. 

Christian Eriksen is currently training with former club Ajax, as part of their reserve squad. He has surprised the people at the club with the levels of fitness that he is displaying. And after training, there is hope that he will be able to play within the next month or so. 

Previously featuring for Tottenham Hotspur, Eriksen made 226 appearances in the Premier League and scored 51 goals for the Lilywhites.
