Christian Eriksen returns to Ajax to train ahead of PL move

Christian Eriksen is nearing a move back to the Premier League, and to build fitness ahead of his return, he has gone back to train with former club Ajax. The Danish midfielder is training with Ajax’s reserves, along with former teammates Daley Blind, Davy Klaassen and Dusan Tadic, as well as Lasse Schone.

The report comes from Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, who reinforce that Eriksen’s return to Amsterdam is only temporary and he will be going back to England soon.

The Danish international has not played a game since suffering a cardiac arrest on the pitch, in the Euros this past summer. He was released by Inter Milan subsequently since he wouldn’t be allowed to play in Italy with a defibrillator installed.

Premier League move close for Christian Eriksen?

The player’s agent, Martin Schoots said: ‘Christian wants to go to the Premier League and I expect this to happen.

‘He wants to go to a club where he can play as much as possible. To be able to play at the World Cup, he has to get fit and be active at the highest level.’

As of now, Brentford and Leicester City have registered their interest in the former Tottenham Hotspur man. Following Schoots’ comments, it seems likely that we will be seeing Christian Eriksen back in the English top flight.

Whether it will be for another London club, or for Brendan Rodgers’ Foxes is what remains to be seen.
