Almost a year into his move to Italy, Christian Eriksen is on his way out of the club, as confirmed by Inter Milan CEO Guiseppe Marotta. Here is what he had to say regarding the future of the former Spurs player:
‘We’ve been very clear many times that there are players on the so-called transfer list, these are players who want to play more regularly, and the club is ready to make them happy and find replacements,’ he said.
‘Eriksen is on the transfer list, Piero Ausilio confirmed as much. He has struggled to settle into the squad, he is not functional to the squad.’
The Danish midfielder’s role at the San Siro has dropped to that of a bench warmer. He has barely had a chance to start a single game this season, and with his talents, will look to try everything to secure a move away in the upcoming transfer window.
Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal are reportedly the clubs that are really interested in the player. While Arsenal are clearly in the worse shape and need a playmaker much more desperately, the fact that Eriksen was once a Spurs player could play into account the events that could make the transfer possible.
