Brentford have offered former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen a chance to return to football in the Premier League. The newly promoted side have offered the player an initial six-month deal, with the option for a further year.

But, they are yet to hear from Eriksen’s agent about the offer. According to reports, at least three other English clubs are interested in signing the Dane. Although there are offers from several clubs across Europe, Eriksen prefers a return to England since his family was previously settled in London, while he played for Spurs.

Christian Eriksen has not played a competitive game since suffering a cardiac arrest in Denmark’s game against Finland in the Euros. He was released from his contract with Inter Milan in December, since he would not be allowed to play football in Italy.

The 29-year-old is currently training with Swiss club Chiasso and keeping himself fit for a potential return. He wants to play for Denmark in the World Cup at the end of the year, and that would require regular appearances on the pitch.

A decision surrounding his future is not expected until later this month, but it will be subject to assessment from a cardiac specialist. Eriksen has a defibrillator installed, and it would be the first time in the history of the English league that a player features with such a device.

There are a number of factors to consider for any club before signing Eriksen, as well as the player himself. But by the looks of things, we might have an answer by the end of the month.
