In MCU, we all are eagerly waiting to see Chris Evans once again holding his shield, and appear in the role of Captain America again, on this context the actor himself spread some light and opens up that his return to the MCU as the iconic Avenger might be “a tall order”.
At a press event of ComicBook for Lightyear, in which we will see Evans playing the role of Buzz Lightyear, the actor had asked if there were any chance to return as a Captain America. Huge fanbase votes for Evans to return as Steve Rogers based on him coming to the Infinity Stones with their rightful place, there we just only going to see that aftermath of the adventure in Avengers: Endgame.
Chris Evans also appreciated that storyline, he also revealed that the role of Captain America was supremely very important to him but he doesn’t appear to be ready to return to the role unless and until a ‘perfect’ scenario is presented by itself.
Chris Evans Opens Up About Returning as Captain America and calls it ‘a Tall Order’
Evans said, “That seems to be something people would like to see,” on the returning of Captain America in a story and putting him to the Infinity Stones. He also added, “I don’t want to disappoint anybody, but it was such a good run and I’m so happy with it…it’s so precious to me. It would have to be perfect. It would be scary to rattle something that is, again, so, so dear to me, and that tole means so much to me, so to revisit it would be a tall order.”
In 2021, there are some reports that reveal Evans returning in the role of Captain America, but it shot down by him saying, “news to me” with such shrug emoji. It’s true, actors have lied about casting rumors in the past, so anything can be possible.
It was 2011 when Chris Evans first time takes up the role of Captain America: The First Avenger and has been one of the main players in the MCU during it’s impressive run. The last time he was seen in Avengers: Endgame while he come back as an old man after returning the Infinity Stones and passing the shield on to Sam Wilson.
Following the film Disney’s Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Wilson appears in the role of the new Captain America.
A big thanks for the source.
