Chennaiyin FC defeated Jamshedpur FC in a vital match to take three points off them. The Men of Steel have now suffered another blow in their ambition for the title, as well as a top four finish. Here are the three key talking points from the game.

Mohd Sajid Dhot shines on his debut

The Chennaiyin FC defender did brilliantly on his debut for the club, so much so that he looked like an experienced team member on the pitch. He denied Jamshedpur an opportunity until the final minutes of the game, and was a brick wall, helping his team see out the game with a one-goal advantage.

For his impressive performances, he was also named the Hero of the Match.

Jamshedpur FC unlucky to lose

Jamshedpur FC were the more offensive team in the game, but somehow, the ball would just not end up in the back of the net for them. They had more possession, more passes and more shots, but were unable to find a goal to salvage a point from the game.

Top four race is now wide open

Chennaiyin FC’s win against Jamshedpur FC blew open the race for the top four, with the first seven teams in the table only separated by six points. It will be very interesting to see which teams win the fight for the playoff spots at the end of the season.

The title, on the other hand, is still in favour of Mumbai City FC, who are going to take on Odisha FC tomorrow.
