Chelsea are preparing the final bid to sign Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli. The 31-year-old has confirmed that talks with the West London club are on the right track, and that it could be only a matter of time before the move is made official.

The Premier League club’s first offer worth €35 million has been rejected, and they are now set to offer €38 million plus add-ons for him. The total package for the transfer will be worth around €40 million, which would make the player one of the most expensive signings over 30 in England.

Chelsea preparing final Kalidou Koulibaly bid

The West London side have moved fast to try and sign the Senegal international. And even though Napoli said that they would not be selling their captain this summer, it now appears as if a move is in motion.

Personal terms have already been agreed between Kalidou Koulibaly and Chelsea. He will be signing a three-year deal with the option for another season. The net salary he will receive will be worth €10 million per season.

Chelsea were first trying to sign Matthijs De Ligt from Juventus. But, the Dutchman appears to prefer a move to Bayern Munich instead. Koulibaly was expected to be Juventus’ replacement for De Ligt, but he is now on his way to Chelsea if the bid is accepted. The Blues are also expected to sign Nathan Ake, and potentially complete the long-awaited deal for Jules Kounde too.
