Chelsea are close to signing Diego Moreira on a free transfer from Benfica. The player’s contract runs out at the end of the season, and he will be making the move to London at that point.

The Blues hierarchy are convinced that he has a very high potential. And they are continuing their model of signing the best young talents in the world, with Moreira expected to be the latest addition.

PSG, Manchester City, Liverpool and AC Milan were all interested in signing the player. But, he has chosen to be a part of Chelsea’s new project. Benfica are very disappointed in having to lose him for free, as he is one of their many incredible academy products.

Diego Moreira currently plays for Benfica B, and has scored and assisted twice in 19 Liga Sabseg matches. He will join the likes of Christopher Nkunku and Malo Gusto, who will also be joining the squad next season. But whether or not he will jump directly into the first team is what remains to be seen.
