Chelsea 0-1 Arsenal: Gunners defeat toothless Blues at Stamford Bridge

Arsenal returned to the top of the Premier League table with a 1-0 win against London rivals Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. It was a very lacklustre performance from the home team, who only managed to register one shot on target throughout the game.

Although Arsenal themselves had two efforts on target during the entire game, they were much more threatening while in possession, as well as without the ball.

The Blues have failed to turn up against Arsenal in almost every fixture for the past few years. And the same pattern repeated itself today, with Mikel Arteta’s side claiming the win.

The only goal of the game was scored by Gabriel Magalhaes, who turned in a corner from Bukayo Saka which evaded everyone.

Last week, Chelsea were humbled by Brighton, while this week they have been defeated by their London rivals who are at their free-flowing best. Moreover, they are the favourites to win the Premier League title this season if they keep up their current form.

The flat display from the West Londoners sees them drop to seventh in the table, behind Brighton, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United. Arsenal, on the other hand, are two points clear of Manchester City at the top of the table.
