There’s something universally warming about a celebrity quietly stepping into parenthood — no big announcements, no magazine deals, just a heartfelt Instagram dump that says everything. That’s exactly what Charles Melton did, and honestly, it couldn’t have been more endearing.
The Baby Announcement That Melted the Internet
The 35-year-old actor — best known for playing Reggie Mantle in Riverdale and his acclaimed turn in May December — took to Instagram to announce the arrival of his first child with girlfriend Camille Summers-Valli. His caption? Simply: “our family.”
The carousel post was a beautiful mix of intimate moments: a kiss with Camille, a tiny newborn foot dwarfed by his hand, a beach walk during the pregnancy, their dog making a guest appearance, and finally — a photo of Charles holding his newborn at what appears to be the hospital.
He kept the baby’s name and gender private, which, frankly, feels refreshing in an era of oversharing.

Who Is Charles Melton?
If you only know him from Riverdale, you might be surprised by how far his career has come. After early guest roles in Glee and American Horror Story: Hotel, Charles Melton shot to fame as Reggie Mantle in the long-running CW drama. He then earned Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice Award nominations for his deeply moving performance in May December (2023) opposite Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore — a role that announced him as a serious dramatic actor.
Next up for Melton is Beef Season 2, where he plays Austin Davis, a personal trainer on the verge of marrying Cailee Spaeny’s character. The ensemble cast includes Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, and Song Kang Ho — making it one of the most anticipated streaming releases of 2026.
