Bayern Munich played out a 2-2 draw against Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League semifinal tie, in front of a packed Allianz Arena. Vinicius Jr was named the man of the match for his brace, scoring on the break against the run of play to draw first blood before equalising from the penalty spot.

Toni Kroos played the Brazilian in with an incredible pass to dissect the Bayern defence, and Vinicius calmly slotted the ball past Manuel Neuer. Bayern had plenty of chances early in the game, but were not clinical in front of goal to convert them.

Leroy Sane produced an incredible finish after cutting in from the right wing to beat Andriy Lunin at his near post, making it 1-1. And thereafter, two penalties on either end made sure that the match ended 2-2.

Konrad Laimer put in a remarkable shift for Bayern, winning possession time and time again for his side. He was tasked with marking Vinicius Jr, and was able to handle him several times in the first half. But, the Brazilian only needed one opportunity to score.

Now, the tie goes to Madrid for the second leg with both teams on level terms. And it will surely make for an incredible match to determine who makes it to Wembley for the final.
