CES 2021: Samsung brings high-end Chromebook to the floor

Samsung and Chromebooks have a long-standing relationship with each other and the South Korean-based tech giants are one of the earlier adopters of the Chrome OS. With the Advent of CES 2021, it seems that Samsung is yet again ready to play it big with Chrome OS yet again.

One new change that Samsung is bringing to the table is that the company will be offering High-end specs for the new Chromebook instead of going with budget-friendly models. The upcoming Galaxy Chromebook 2 will be the first Chromebook with a QLED FHD touchscreen, and it will be launched by the end of April. It’s a good idea that Samsung is moving forward with the QLED display as they offer deeper colors than IPS and are cheaper to manufacture than the OLED technology.

The South Korean tech giant is also providing two humongous large 5 W x2 speakers, but unfortunately, the remaining features are decent. Buyers also get a backlit keyboard, two USB-C ports, and active pen support. The features offered by the Galaxy Chromebook 2 are given below. It’s the first step that the tech giant has taken to offer a high-end Chromebook device and it will be revealed at the world’s biggest IT event, CES 2021.

  • 13.3-inch QLED FHD touchscreen
  • Intel Core i3-10110U or Celeron 5205U CPU (TPM support)
  • 4 GB to 8 GB of RAM
  • 64 GB to 128 GB of storage
  • USI Pen support (pen sold separately)
  • 2x USB-C, MicroSD reader, 3.5 mm combo audio
  • 12 x 8 x 0.55 inches
  • 2.71 lbs
