CES 2021: MSI GP76 Leopard and GP66 Leopard | MSI launches their dedicated 3000 NVIDIA series laptop with Intel’s latest i7 10 Gen processors

MSI recently launched a new segment dedicatedly for the High graphics games powered by Intel’s i7 10 Gen processor. Both GP76 and GP66 both have 144Hz display in two different sizes. The bigger one is Gp76 of 17.3 Inches and the other one is 15.6 Inches.

Basically, they are focusing on GPU portion to make a Top-level and upper Mid-level segment so based on the price they are giving NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Laptop GPU 8GB GDDR6, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Laptop GPU 16GB GDDR6 in GP76 Leopard 10UH version, which is the Top one variant with two resized GPU option.

The second one is GP76 Leopard 10UG and upper mid-level model with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Laptop GPU 8GB GDDR6.

And the third one is GP76 Leopard 10UE a mid-level model with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Laptop GPU 6GB GDDR6.

Only this GPU difference categorizes the segments in both of the models, otherwise, every segment in the individual model is identical except those GPUs.

The key features which are making these segment a Top end are Resizable BAR, which is an advanced PCI Express feature that enables the CPU to access the entire GPU frame buffer at once, improving performance in many games, RAY TRACING, DLSS AI Acceleration, DYNAMIC BOOST 2.0 for managing power transfer.

To support this Intel core i7 10870H processor they are using DDR4-3200 Memory Type 2 Slots Number of SO-DIMM Slot Max 64GB Max Capacity.

For the storage purpose, they are using two slots of Gen3 NVMe, where they are providing 2TB of SSD storage which is so good for the users.

According to the price segment, it is a bit confusing why they are using a 10th Gen processor whereas i7 11th Gen Tiger Lake has arrived. But the company says that with the Cooler Boost 5 it can clock up to 5 GHz. Also, they are releasing a dedicated Stealth 15M edition for that Special edition processor. It’s like a business plan to elaborate segments and varieties. Also, in GP76 for the GPU performance, the processor difference will quite negligible also price can be higher for the 11^th Gen special edition.

For the connectivity purpose, they are using Bluetooth 5.1 and Wi-fi 6 (not the latest Wi-fi 6E standard). As they are focusing on High-End Games so there is a Gigabyte Lan port along with 1x (4K @ 60Hz) HDMI, 3x Type-A USB3.2 Gen1, 1x Type-C (USB3.2 Gen2 / DP).

Both Laptop comes with a SteelSeries keyboard with a Per-key RGB configuration and three speakers with Nahimic 3 support.
