CES 2020: Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold launched at $2,499

Lenovo is known for its innovative products and in 2019 we were shown its new innovation – it’s own foldable laptop names ThinkPad X1 Fold which was just a concept a year back. Now at CES 2020, Lenovo has announced its first foldable laptop – the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold.

This foldable laptop features a 13.3-inch OLED display when it is completely unfolded having a resolution of 2048×1536 pixels which is truly great for a foldable screen to have. You have various configurations of actually using this device, you can even use it as a regular laptop mode by folding it and popping the keyboard on the screen.

The ThinkPad X1 Fold runs on Lenovo optimized Windows 10 Pro rather than Microsoft’s new Windows 10X which is dedicated for foldable, tablets and other such mobile form factor windows devices.

We saw a glimpse of it when Microsoft actually showed its Surface Neo foldable device, Lenovo will surely release the device with Windows 10X when it’s available later this year.

Under the hood, you get 10th Gen Intel Core processors along with 8GB RAM and up to 1TB of NVMe SSD storage. Also, there’s 5G and LTE support, Bluetooth 5.0, and Lenovo claims a battery life of 11 hours with the 50Whr battery inside the device.

The foldable display has a lot of applications, you can put two different windows on each half of the screen. Now, this allows using both parts of the screen for multi-purposes for like comparing two documents, one on each screen, or attending a video call on one screen while making changes to a presentation or taking notes on the other.

There’s a dedicated wireless keyboard along with it which gives you a more traditional laptop working experience. Lenovo has got a unique style of using the hardware keyboard, you can keep it safe inside the fold of the laptop, held securely in place with magnets and can also be charged wirelessly.

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Fold is a unique laptop, quite futuristic, made for increasing our productivity and help us in our daily lives.
