Carrier providers are giving away free iPhone 12 to attract customers to their 5G network

The word is moving towards adopting 5G technology in order to boost their Artificial Intelligence and IoT technology. It is estimated that almost every upcoming phone of 2021 will have 5G support in order to boost the efficiency of apps using AI and Cloud Computing resources.

Apple’s iPhone 12, the most anticipated upcoming smartphone in years, will sport apples new A14 Bionic and will come with 5G support.

The news has come stating that the new iPhone 12 5G will be given for free by AT&T Inc and Verizon Communications Inc., the two leading carriers, are ready to fight for their spot in the upcoming 5G revolution.

Customers will be eligible for placing orders online starting from Friday. They will however have to sign up for unlimited plans of the companies and must be in possession of an iPhone that is qualified for a trade-off.

The free offer however is only available for the $799 iPhone 12 and not its other variants.

AT&T announced it will be extending this new offer to both the existing as well as new customers. Verizon on the other hand will only extend the new offer to its new customers. But the existing customers of Verizon can still avail of the new offer. They can get a new iPhone for $15 a month, that is if they qualify.

The 5G promises 10 times faster speeds than what the current connections can offer. The US carriers have spent nearly billions of dollars to adapt to and develop the next generation of wireless technology. But the disadvantage of the new network only available in limited areas still remains an issue for the carrier companies to tackle.

AT&T has taken the promotion game even further. The company has offered an interesting offer for those looking to purchase 5G Android devices. They can now get as much as a $700 discount off of Android smartphones like Samsung, LG, and Motorola.

As the battle for 5G heats up, it is worth seeing how the carrier providers tackle the limited coverage problem of the next-gen wireless technology.
