Carlo Ancelotti could set another club record with Real Madrid, having guided them to a 100% start so far this season. The defending champions of Europe and Spain have won every single one of their matches in La Liga and the Champions League.
Their winning streak is currently at nine games, having scored 24 goals and conceded only six, with none in the Champions League. The current record of the most wins at the start of the season is at 11, which was set by Miguel Munoz in the 60s.
Carlo Ancelotti on the cusp of etching another piece of history with Real Madrid
Munoz won eleven games again in 1968, but was unable to get past Rapid Vienna, which ended their run. And in only three games after the international break, Carlo Ancelotti could be the manager that breaks the record with a 12th straight win.
After the resumption of club football, Real Madrid will face Osasuna and Shakhtar Donetsk at home, followed by a trip to Getafe. All three opponents are difficult, but considering the form that Los Blancos have shown, they are the favourites to win all three games.
The absence of their best player, Karim Benzema, will no doubt make things more challenging. But, they have shown that the goals can come even without their prolific number 9.
