After a long time being teased, the most awaited flagship mirrorless camera Canon EOS R5 is now launched. It’s not the only one, along with it Canon EOS R6 also debut in the market.
Canon EOS R5 Details:
This new camera body is equipped with a 45-megapixel sensor, and able to shoot continuously at up to 12fps using Mechanical Shutter or at 20fps using the electronic shutter. For processing, there is Canon’s Digic X image processor. It has the support of the ISO range of 100 to 51,200 that can be expanded up to ISO 102,400.
For the next level of focusing Canon used the updated version of Dual Pixel CMOS AF that’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF II autofocus technology. Besides, you can focus at any point of the frame you want to capture as there is a 100% autofocus area. On the other hand, you will get 5,940 AF positions to select manually. The Face Tracking with Eye Detection AF for both people and animals which was firstly introduced in EOS R and EOS RP is also coming with this EOS R5.
One of the key features of this model is the in-body image stabilisation that works jointly with the Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) of all EF and RF series lenses with IS or non-IS category. This feature is effective up to 8-stops shutter speed.
Coming to the Video recording abilities. It can capture moments at a 30fps frame rate with 8K resolution. You can also come down to 4K, if you wish, and can record videos at 120fps. Otherwise, crop the 8K recording to downgrade that in 4K. The file format options given are RAW, H.265 HEVC, and H.264 MP4.
The magnesium alloy build dust and water-resistant body hold two LCDs, a vari-angle monitor with touch support and a panel for controls, Multi-Controller and Quick control dials, and dual memory card slots, where both the CFexpress card and SD card can fit.
Apart from all, you can find a USB Type-C port, HDMI micro port, 3.5mm headphone jack, dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 including FTP and FTPS support.
Canon EOS R6 Details:
Maximum of its specs are quite similar to the EOS R5, though there are some differences too. Have a look –

Pricing & Availability:
Both these Canon EOS R5 and EOS R6 will be available in India through the Canon authorized dealers and Canon Image Squares from August. In our country the EOS R5 is tagged with ₹3,39,995, and EOS R6 will be available at ₹2,15,995. In the US, the prices are 3,899 USD for EOS R5 and 2,499 USD for the EOS R6.
