Call of Duty: Warzone and Modern Warfare 3 Season 4 – Soap MacTavish Returns (Maybe?)

Get ready to revisit the iconic Modern Warfare 3 campaign and Warzone battlegrounds with Call of Duty: Season 4.

Launching on May 29th, 2024, this update brings a wave of exciting content, including the potential return of a beloved character – Captain John “Soap” MacTavish.

Soap MacTavish: Dead or Alive?

Fans who played the heart-wrenching Modern Warfare 3 campaign will be scratching their heads. Soap’s heroic sacrifice in the game’s final moments was a defining moment in the Call of Duty narrative. However, Season 4’s promotional art throws a wrench into that story, featuring a very much alive Soap.

Activision has been tight-lipped about the details of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Season 4, but the tagline “A harrowing discovery can change everything” has sparked theories among fans.

some of the leading speculations:

One theory suggests a cloning storyline. The DNA emoji accompanying the tagline hints at this possibility, where advanced technology allows for the recreation of fallen heroes like Soap MacTavish. This could raise interesting ethical questions within the Call of Duty universe.

Another theory proposes that Season 4 could feature flashback missions or simulations that revisit iconic moments with Soap. This approach would appeal to fans’ nostalgia for the character without affecting the established storyline.

Finally, some speculate that there might be a twist in the Zombies mode. Modern Warfare 3’s Zombies mode depicts Soap as alive, and perhaps Season 4 will introduce a narrative crossover, blurring the lines between the campaign and the undead world.

What Else to Expect in Season 4?

Season 4 of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 isn’t just about Soap’s return. The recently revealed teaser hints at a thrilling narrative centered on stopping a global threat, possibly a bioweapon or a devastating gas. Beyond the story, rumors swirl about a wild collaboration with the mecha giant Gundam, potentially letting players pilot these iconic robots in Warzone.

Fan-favorites are also making a comeback, with the return of the powerful Kar98k sniper rifle. To top it all off, new operators will be available to unlock and customize, likely including a revamped Soap, alongside a fresh season packed with cosmetic rewards and weapon blueprints through the battle pass.
