Caglar Soyuncu could be set to join Atletico Madrid by the end of the January transfer window instead of the summer. The player reportedly wants to leave Leicester City as soon as possible, and the Rojiblancos are anticipating the transfer as best as they can.

The Turkiye international’s contract runs out in the summer, and he will be available to join as a free agent. However, Atletico want a boost for the second half of the season and want to sign the centre-back if they can reach an agreement with the Foxes soon.

Other clubs such as Lyon and Freiburg are also keeping tabs on the situation, in case they can sign him. However, Soyuncu has his eyes set on a move to the Spanish capital.

As a result, it will be difficult for other clubs to come in and convince him unless they can offer similar terms. The 26-year-old has only played one Premier League game this season after falling out of favour at the King Power Stadium. And a move away seems like the only option for him now.

Atletico Madrid are planning to complete the sale of Felipe to Wolves very soon. And the arrival of Soyuncu could follow if the deal goes through.

Leicester City are eyeing Harry Souttar of Stoke City to replace Caglar Soyuncu in central defence. Alongside the Australian, they have also completed the signing of Victor Kristiansen to bolster their defense.
