Bybit (https://www.bybit.com/), one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency exchanges by trading volume, has announced a significant expansion of its services beyond digital assets, positioning itself as a comprehensive financial platform. Co-founder and CEO Ben Zhou outlined new initiatives in traditional finance (TradFi), including stock trading, pre-IPO markets, and integrated payment solutions, during the company’s latest biannual keynote address.

The expansion signals Bybit’s strategic pivot towards converging digital and traditional financial markets, with Zhou emphasizing the company’s approach to building for this shift. The keynote, titled “Make Your Move,” was held with a live audience, discussing evolving financial landscapes and the technologies shaping Bybit’s next phase.

Bybit : Four Years of TradFi Expansion Culminates in Stock Market Access

Bybit’s foray into traditional finance began in 2022 with Contracts for Difference (CFDs), establishing itself as a notable platform in the crypto CFD market. On October 12, the company further diversified its offerings with the launch of stock trading for eligible users. This new service provides access to over 1,000 U.S. stocks and ETFs, enabling trading with USDC, fractional shares, and 24/5 market access covering U.S. pre-market, regular, and after-hours sessions.

Further developments in TradFi include “mStocks,” a collaboration with Mantle, slated for a November launch. These tokenized stock products are designed to be 1:1 backed by real stocks, with plans for continuous conversion between eligible stocks and mStocks on Bybit. They are also intended for decentralized exchange trading via automated market maker (AMM) liquidity pools on Mantle and integration into Bybit’s Unified Trading Account (UTA) as trading collateral, subject to terms.

In June, Bybit introduced IPO Express, offering eligible users access to selected initial public offering opportunities at the offering price, exemplified by its launch with SpaceX. The company’s comprehensive TradFi offering now spans over 600 products, including equities, ETFs, indices, commodities, and foreign exchange. Recent additions include Forex Perpetuals and Perp Options, an industry-first options product built on TradFi perpetuals. Bybit is also developing new perpetual products linked to AI computing and commodities.

Extending Platform Capabilities into Payments

Beyond trading and investment, Bybit has augmented its payments infrastructure to facilitate greater fund flexibility for users. Its Bybit Pay and Bybit Card services support crypto and fiat transfers, merchant payments, and everyday spending. The platform now connects users with over 5,000 merchants across more than 15 countries and enables transfers to bank accounts and e-wallets, alongside QR payments. Over 4 million Bybit Cards have reportedly been issued, extending the platform’s utility into general payments and consumer spending.

Security and Regulatory Frameworks Strengthened

Accompanying its expansion, Bybit has invested in security, compliance, and technological infrastructure. The company reported intercepting over 30,000 suspicious withdrawal requests in the first half of 2026, preventing more than $700 million in potential user losses.

Bybit also secured five new licenses and regulatory approvals during 2026 across the European Union, the Cayman Islands, Indonesia, South Africa, and El Salvador. These regulatory milestones are intended to support the company’s efforts to expand its presence across various markets in adherence to local requirements.

In September, Bybit launched Bybit AI, a conversational assistant designed to aid users with trading, account management, and customer support, with further development planned across its broader financial services.

Ben Zhou commented, “Bybit aims to provide users with the speed and scale necessary to execute their financial strategies. We have integrated trading, investing, payments, and AI, and are continually expanding market access and product offerings. Our focus is on empowering individuals with financial freedom.”

This strategic shift underscores Bybit’s evolution from primarily a cryptocurrency exchange to a unified financial platform, integrating diverse capabilities within a single ecosystem. This aligns with broader industry developments (https://technosports.co.in/) towards comprehensive digital financial services.
