BTS Just Said No To The Grammys — And ARMY Couldn’t Be Prouder

BTS just made a statement louder than any award could. On July 29, all seven members — RM, Jin, Suga, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook — posted the same message across their personal accounts at the same time: they’re skipping music submissions for this year’s Grammys entirely.

Their reasoning wasn’t about snubs or rivalries. It was about principle. The group said they hope music gets heard and loved for what it is, not boxed in by region or language, and thanked ARMY for standing by them through it all.

What’s Behind The Decision

The timing isn’t a coincidence. The Recording Academy recently announced five new categories, including one specifically for Asian pop performance — meant to recognize K-pop, J-pop, and C-pop. But instead of being celebrated, the move drew backlash from critics who argue it risks sidelining Asian artists from the major, general-field categories like Album of the Year and Record of the Year rather than genuinely including them.

BTS is a South Korean boy band that has spent over a decade breaking barriers in the global music industry, and this move fits a pattern fans know well — the group choosing artistic principle over industry validation whenever the two collide.

For a group that’s already proven its dominance on home turf, this feels less like a protest and more like a statement of confidence. Curious how BTS has been keeping the momentum going lately? Check out TechnoSports’ coverage of  Technosports
