Brendon McCullum has been named the new white ball head coach of the England national cricket team. The former New Zealand batter takes over all formats for the Three Lions after initially joining their test team in 2022.
The ECB are leaving no stone unturned in their preparation for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, and the early appointment will give McCullum ample time to draw up his strategy for the tournament.

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time with the Test team, and I’m excited to extend my role to include the white-ball sides. This new challenge is something I’m ready to embrace, and I’m eager to work closely with Jos (Buttler) and the team to build on the strong foundations that are already in place,” Brendon McCullum said.
Fans are hopeful that McCullum will be able to transfer the good fortune he has brought about for the test team to the other formats of the game. England didn’t perform up to expectations at the ODI and T20 World Cup recently, and they believe the change will help them return to top form for the upcoming ICC competitions over the next three years.
