Real Madrid have been hit with a serious injury and COVID-19 crisis towards the business end of the season. All of their first-choice defenders are out injured or have tested positive for COVID-19.

Dani Carvajal and Ferland Mendy are still nursing their injuries while Ramos and Varane have tested positive for COVID-19.

After coming out of a tough week with their heads held high, Real Madrid have hit their physical limits with most of the first-team players not being in their best physical shape.

Now, Real Madrid have been dealt with another blow as Federico Valverde have been ruled out of the game against Getafe. He has come in direct contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID- 19, however, thankfully he has tested negative but will have to take precautions.

Real Madrid published an official statement: “Real Madrid C. F informs that our player Fede Valverde has been in isolation since yesterday, Saturday 17 April, after being in direct contact with a person who has tested positive for Covid-19, although the player has tested negative in all the tests that he has undergone.”

“Fede Valverde will not be available for the match against Getafe C. F. today.”

Zidane will have a real headache to chose the starting XI for their clash against Getafe tonight.
