In an attempt to promote its objective of a 20% ethanol blend for gasoline by 2025–2026, Brazil recently began working with India to share technologies. In exchange, Brazil is supplying native breeds to increase productivity in the cattle and poultry industry.

Two months ahead of schedule, in April 2023, the prime minister announced gasoline containing 20% ethanol. Since 2014, the percentage of ethanol has increased from 1.5% to the current level. By 2025, it is expected that every city in the country will have access to E-20 gasoline, which will first be supplied at 84 gas stations spread across 15 cities.
Additionally, Brazil plans to improve market access for Indian agriculture exports, particularly urea, in order to partially address the imbalance in the agricultural trade relationship.
India can easily reach up to 30% because it produces a lot of sugarcane, and both nations have technology with capacities of up to 27.5 percent, which can be increased to 30%.
