Ramakant Dayama, a popular face in Indian soap operas and films, passed away after battling a prolonged illness. His passing was confirmed by his co-actor Shubhangi Latkar, who penned a heartfelt tribute in his memory.

Shubhangi described him as not just a dear friend and family friend, but someone she deeply admired and respected — full of life, warmth, and energy. She called him a spontaneous dancer, a soulful singer, a brilliant actor, and for her, a wise advisor whose words always carried meaning.

Her tribute captured something that goes beyond professional admiration — the loss of someone whose presence made every room and every set a warmer place.

A Career Spanning Films, TV and OTT

Over the last two decades, Ramakant Dayama played several pivotal supporting characters across Bollywood films and television shows. He was fondly remembered for portraying the Association Member in the 2007 sports drama Chak De! India, starring Shah Rukh Khan.

He also appeared in films such as Ram Setu, Crew, Mumbai Saga, Brothers, Paa, and Drive, while his television and OTT work included acclaimed series like Made in Heaven, Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story, and Farzi.

The Unfinished Play That Will Never Be

Perhaps the most poignant detail in Shubhangi’s tribute was this — after many years, she had truly wished to work with him again, and they had decided to collaborate on a Hindi play. When she approached him about it, he smiled and said he would do it once he recovered. That collaboration, sadly, will never come to be.

Ramakant is survived by his daughter Yashaswini Dayama and son Prabuddh. Yashaswini has also carved a niche for herself in the industry with performances in films like Dear Zindagi and Phobia.
