Where Winds Meet Quest Breakdown

Step 1: Navigate the Poisonous Swamp

From the Wayfarer in Sundara Land, drop into Bodhi Sea carefully. The area is shrouded in mist and filled with poisonous muck that restricts movement.

Pro Tip: Use Wind Sense liberally to detect crocodiles lurking in deep water. These crocs attack instantly when you venture into murky areas, and you can’t dodge or escape easily once engaged. Stick to wooden platforms and shallow crossings.

Step 2: Find and Strike the Three Drums

Your mission is to sound three drums scattered throughout the area. Here’s how to locate them efficiently:

Listen for Audio Cues: When a drum is nearby, a soundwave icon appears on your HUD showing the direction. Follow these visual indicators.

Combat Warning: Each drum is guarded by soldiers who resurrect once after defeat. Don’t panic—just beat them again to proceed.

Recommended Route: Start by taking the left path around the swamp. Cross shallow water near the tree to reach the first drum past a Buddha statue. Continue following audio cues for drums two and three.

Step 3: Speak with Zhang Yinmang

After striking all three drums, return to the village center and talk to Zhang Yinmang, the NPC beating the central drum. He’ll confirm your progress and trigger an illusion sequence leading to the boss.

Walk slowly through the illusion path, listening to spirits along the way. At the end, you’ll reach a Hero’s Tomb—your cue that the boss fight awaits.

Step 4: Defeat Ye Wanshan (Boss Strategy)

Phase 1 – Master the Parry:
Ye Wanshan telegraphs attacks with red indicators that have delayed timing. Focus on deflecting these red attacks to deplete his Qi bar, staggering him for massive damage windows.

Phase 2 – Dodge the Fire:
At around 50% health, his weapons ignite and he introduces unblockable yellow-indicator attacks. He’ll perform powerful slams and throw his glaive twice in succession. Switch from parrying to dodging, and capitalize on his long recovery animations after these heavy attacks.

Essential Tips:

• Upgrade defense stats before attempting this fight
• Maintain distance in Phase 2 and wait for openings
• Save healing items for the second phase
