I have been using on the ear headphones over the last few years and wanted to try an over the ear headphone. I came across the boAt Rockerz 560 Bluetooth headset on Flipkart and liked the overall thing and decided to try it out.

I ordered the boAt Rockerz 560 Bluetooth Headset from Flipkart for Rs 1,899. I have used it for over a month now and would like to share my review with you all so that you can decide whether is it worth the buy.

  • 1 boAt welcome card

Design and build quality

The boAt Rockerz 560 Bluetooth Headset is an over the ear headphone. The build material doesn’t feel cheap even if it isn’t premium. It is ergonomically designed to fit perfectly.

It features adjustable and foldable ear cups which makes it easier to fit as we can adjust the length of the arm as per the size of our heads. The ear cups are also well-cushioned and the upper part is also cushioned to make it comfortable to hear.

The only thing which bothered me is that the earcups didn’t fit perfectly over my ears which caused some kind of uncomfortableness while wearing this which turned into pain after prolonged wear. The headphone is also on the heavy side so the weight is also an issue which makes it difficult to wear it on a long term basis.

Connectivity

The boAt Rockerz 560 has two types of connectivity, both AUX and Bluetooth. For me, which seems an absolute win cause when you’re in the middle of something and the battery runs out it is very frustrating. So, after your Bluetooth battery runs out you can easily keep your work flowing by connecting with the AUX cable.

For connecting with the AUX cable, there is a 3.5 mm jack on the earcup. So you just need to plug in the AUX cable and you’re ready to use.

For connecting to Bluetooth, first, turn on the headphone by long-pressing the power button. A red and blue light will flash alternatively to indicate the headphone is turned on. Now, turn on the Bluetooth on your phone and you can find the device on the available Bluetooth devices list.

From the second time, if the Bluetooth on your phone is turned on, whenever you turn on the headphone it will automatically connect to the last connected device.

So, on the connectivity options front, boAt Rockerz 560 has done a wonderful job by including both the AUX and Bluetooth modes. But in Bluetooth mode when you’re listening to a video you can clearly see that the lips won’t sync with the audio which is kind of awkward.

I’ve also tried playing COD Mobile with this headphone on Bluetooth mode and it was below average. There were some occasional major delays.

If you’re going to use this only in AUX mode then you don’t have to think about these issues, cause in AUX mode it is almost perfect.

Audio quality

This is the main part of any headset. The audio quality is one of the most important factors for judging the quality of a headphone. The boAt Rockerz 560 has one of the best audio quality in these price range under Rs 2,000. The highs and lows are both almost equally good.

The bass quality will also catch your eye. As it an over the ear headphone, you can feel the bass more. The over the ear design also helps in passive noise cancellation. The only downfall in the over the ear design of this headset is that the earcups don’t fit perfectly in the ears which makes it difficult to use for a longer period of time.

The in-built mic is also good. The person on the other end won’t face any noise problem. Overall, the audio quality experience is up to the mark for this price range.

Battery backup

The boAt Rockerz 560 Bluetooth Headset has 400mAh battery capacity and the company claims that it will give you a 15 hours backup. I used it on 70-80% volume and it went for about 10-12 hours which is pretty good.

The charging time is around 2.5 hours which is near about perfect in real life. So the battery backup and charging is average. You can get better in this price range.

Pros and cons

ProsCons
Durable for rough useBluetooth latency
Good sound and bass qualityEarcups don’t fit perfectly
Dual connectivity optionsBattery performance could be better

Verdict

From my personal experience, I didn’t quite like the boAt Rockerz 560 Bluetooth Headset. The audio quality is amazing but I couldn’t use them for long hours which was a big issue for me.

If you’re comfortable using an over the ear headphone, then you can definitely try this. Or else, you can try Infinity Glide 510 which comes for just Rs 1,699.
